A members-only research network

Do real research in high school, with people who do it for a living.

Twelve weeks. One question that's yours. A PhD or engineer to guide you, a real research solver to run it on, and the world to test it against. You don't need calculus.

Under 18? We open to high school students after our safety and legal review. You can explore everything here today. For parents

Try it: drag the chip

Peak heat 0

The bottom edge is cold. Where should the chip go? This is project 1, on a plate. The numbers match our research solver to within 1%.

Start with something you actually wonder about

Ten projects, each already tested on the solver, each with a way to check it against the real world, often with just your phone.

How twelve weeks go

The same path researchers follow, at a pace that fits around school.

  1. Learn to trust the model

Run a real simulation on day one, then reproduce a known answer. Weeks 1 to 3.

  2. Ask your own question

One sentence that could turn out to be wrong, with your prediction written down first. Weeks 4 and 5.

  3. Measure the world

Compare your model with your own recordings, measurements or public data. Weeks 6 to 9.

  4. Explain the gap

Work out why they differ, and write it up in your own words. Weeks 10 to 12.

You finish with real work

A paper you wrote, data and code anyone can check, and a talk you can give without notes. Nobody can do that part for you, and that's why it means something.

Mentors who chose this

PhDs, researchers and software engineers. A person checks each one's credentials, and a background check is required before they work with anyone under 18.

It doesn't stop at admissions

Stay on through college for internships, jobs and early-career advice. At 18 your profile connects to your own Crafted Life Journey page.

For parents

Nothing happens without you.

A student under 18 joins only with your consent. You approve each mentor before they know your child asked, you can read every message, and you can stop anything at any time. You don't need an account.

What parents should know

What we won't do

  • Write your project, or let a mentor do it
  • Promise admission to any college
  • List students under 18 where adults can browse them
  • Sell personal information, or show ads
